Justine Batura specialises in the law of renewable energies, in particular on subsidy conditions and public permits for wind and photovoltaic projects. In addition, Ms Batura advises on environmental energy law, in particular on energy efficiency and emissions trading for companies. Ms Batura's field of activity is rounded off by her advisory practice in EU State aid and subsidy law.

Studies

Studied law at the University of Potsdam (Germany) and at the Université Paris Nanterre (France) as part of the German-French study programme, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Licence de droit. Master of Laws (LL.M) at University College London (United Kingdom), with specialism in International Law. Legal clerkship (Rechtsreferendariat) at the Higher Regional Court of Berlin with stages at the Federal Ministry of Justice and the Federal Constitutional Court.

Professional Experience

Experience in leading commercial law firms in the areas of regulatory, European and energy law. Several years as research assistant at a chair for European and international law as well as insights into international courts (European Court of Human Rights, treaty bodies of the United Nations).
